LeanPlan ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and store your information when you use the LeanPlan app at app.leanplan.uk.

2. What data we collect

When you use LeanPlan, we may collect the following information:

• Your name and email address (when you create an account)
• Health and fitness data you provide — including age, sex, height, weight, fitness goals, dietary requirements, injuries, and equipment
• Meal logs, workout logs, weight entries, measurements, and progress photos you choose to record
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
• Usage data — how you interact with the app, to help us improve it

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Generate personalised meal plans and workout programmes
• Provide AI coaching tailored to your goals and progress
• Manage your account and subscription
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, subscription updates, reminders)
• Improve and develop the LeanPlan service

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. How we store your data

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is stored on servers within the European Union. We take appropriate technical measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

5. Third-party services

LeanPlan uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Anthropic — AI meal plan generation and coaching
• Railway — app hosting
• Google — optional Google Sign In

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and data protection practices.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial reasons.

8. Cookies

LeanPlan is a Progressive Web App and does not use tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage to store your app preferences and data locally on your device.

9. Children

LeanPlan is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or via the app. Your continued use of LeanPlan after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
